Summer Evening Necklace
At the end of the day,
When the heat has faded
A bit
And the only rays of sun
Are those that shoot straight up
From behind the mountains
To fan out amongst the clouds,
I lose myself
If I am able
In cricket music and the
Whine of mosquitos,
Moving through the air slowly
As if it were water
Grateful for the sunset
My steady feet
The pockets of cool air
Pooling in the low places
As night rises.

Oh how I love a peaceful summer evening - so much so that I’ve done my best to capture that love in jewelry form. Egyptian turquoise above and inlayed bars of sunset calcedony below, bring to mind the fading sky and the last rays of sunlight lingering above the horizon.
Please note - there is a small flaw in the inlay of the middle calcedony bar. An air bubble was trapped beneath the stone during setting and can be seen from some angles/in some lights. While not wildly noticeable, I wanted to point it out - it can be best seen in the second and last photos.
